Our foster sons Jeremy and Dustin. They are just adorable.. This was before we got on a plane to Disney.. They were so excited!!!

What a terrible person, I have a blog and do nothing with it... Well I plan to change that.. We have been so busy with our foster sons that I do not even know what day of the week it is.. LOL!!!
It is my favorite time of the year, Garage sale time!!! WOOHOO!!!! I love to garage sale... I look so forward to it on Friday's and Saturday's... It is amazing what you find.... This was the first weekend garage sale in a subdivision just down the road from us and what great things I did find... We usually have one great find of the year and this years most likely will be the grill that my husband spotted... It was $30.00 and looks brand new, he is so excited about it. We cleaned it up yesterday and what a find... I also got some summer shirts and shorts for the boys for $.50 to $1.00 a piece. I found a great Lego table for $20.00 that also came with 2 chairs. I also found a great play kitchen for $20.00 and a wonderful bakers rack for my craft area for $10.00. If I feel that prices are fair I will not ask them to take less but if I feel the prices are kind if high I will try and negotiate but I usually feel that the prices are more then fair... I pretty much outfit the boys from garage sales. They grow so fast and get their clothes so dirty I hate to pay full price for them... I have gotten many clothing items with price tags still on them... I just love it..
And yes we have 2 foster boys that came to live with us last April. They are a handful but are the sweetest little guys who just need lots of love... They are doing wonderful and have come so far in a year. We are actually going to be able to adopt both of them so we are very excited about that. They are 3 and 4 and their names are Dustin and Jeremy... It is amazing what children in foster care have been through. You just do not realize how many children are out there that just are neglected and abused... The whole process has been a very big eye opener for Kevin and I but we love the boys as if they were our own. I would be lost without them...
Well, the weather is just beautiful here today and I have 2 little boys that want to go outside and play so I better get off of here. I will post pictures of the boys and our great garage sale items.. Any garage sale questions just ask...

Have a great one!!!

Score!!

Went to Michael's today and scored some Martha Stewart Halloween stamps and the spider punch for $2.99 a piece. They were marked 70% off. I was able to get a lovely assortment of ribbon out of the $1.00 bin. I also got 3 Halloween stamps for .70 that are normally $1.00. Take a peak.
I am finally posting 2 cards that I have finished. The first one is a fall card. W R Memory Keepers paper, Bazil card stock, Prima flowers, and a Martha Stewart tag. The card measures 5 1/2 X 4 1/4.

The second card is an anniversary card that I finished tonight. The card measures 5 1/2 X 4. The papers are Paper Studio and K & Co., Prima and Spare Parts flowers and the stamped saying is a Paper Salon stamp stamped in Color Box ink in Warm Red.

I love to mix and match papers to come up with unique ideas. Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not. You just keep plugging away.

You may want to get over to you local Michael's to check out the goodies on the 70% off rack.

Have a great evening.

Super Busy!!!

Sorry it has been so long since I have posted. Kevin and I have been in the midst of getting certified for foster care. There are so many children out there that need good role models and this is our way of helping. Since we are in Indiana we had to do 24 hours of training and we needed to get certified in CPR. I have to say that I was really not looking forward to going but in the end we learned so much and are glad that they offer these classes... All that is left to do is our fingerprints, my physical and the home study. Why does it always take so long to get into the doctor to get a physical. I had to schedule 2 months out that is awful...
I have been working on the room and will post some pictures for all to see. We do not have any children of our own so I have been having so much fun getting the room all together. My sister and I went shopping one weekend to find the bedding and accessories and had such a great time so thank you Leslie for the great help and advice... I love the paint colors that I chose and the whole room just looks great...
Anyone who are foster parents I would love to hear some words of advice. Some do's and dont's or just some of your experiences. I have a lot to still learn so also if you have any good books that are a must read please share.
Thanks for stopping by!!!

TRANSFORMERS ROCK!!!!!

WOW, what a great movie.... Let me start by saying that I did not want to see this movie at all... I had been dreading going all week but now I am so glad that I went. It was such a great movie and now one of my new favorites. I want to go and see it again, anyone up for it??? It will be making an appearance in our movie selection as soon as it comes out on DVD... Just had to let everyone know that it is a movie not to be missed.... Hopefully Transformers 2 will be making an appearance next summer... Let's keep our fingers crossed....
In other news, I have finally started working on our Hawaii scrapbook... I do not know why it has taken me so long to start on this project.... I did find some really cute paper at our LSS that really got my mind turning so it must have sparked some creativity in me... I also have to say that I finally got to spend some time in our LSS and I am loving there new store and location... It is huge with so much great stuff to look at... The name of the store is Pages in Time in South Bend, Indiana if you are ever in the area, I guarantee you will love it. There was a lady there and she said that she was from Florida and could not wait to get home to tell everyone about the great scrapbook store that she had found... She knew that she was going to be in the area and looked at the stores in the back of her Papercrafts magazine and found Pages in Time advertised... I think that she was glad that she did....
Have a great evening everyone and when I get our Hawaii album done I will post some pics for all to see..... Good night!!!!

My Creative Room!!!!

Well, here are some pictures of my creative space. Almost everything in my room has come from some great garage sales. I LOVE TO GO TO GARAGE SALES.... I go every Saturday with my Mother-in-Law and we have a great time.

The Red cabinet was a gray mess but it had a great thick wooden top and it cost me all of $5.00. My husband does mobile paint and dent repair on vehicles so he has all the great paints and clear coat to make anything beautiful. The chair in the room came from a garage sale and also cost me all of $5.00. The little wooden cabinet with the 2 doors came from a garage sale and fit perfectly in the closet that I took the doors off of. That cost me all of $6.00. The tall black cabinet next to the red one came from an estate sale and ran me all of $10.00 and again my dear hubby was able to fix it up and make it look pretty too... I also found a Pampered Chef caddy at a sale and paid all of .50 for it and it works great for holding all of my pens, scissors, markers, files, tweezers anything of that nature. I found the Pioneer stereo at a sale also for all of $20.00 and it works great. I got the TV in the room for 5.00 at a sale and it works great for what I wanted it for. You can find great things at garage sales, you just have to go and look....

Not everything is from garage sales though. I asked for the 2 embellishment bins above the desk area for X-mas. They came from Menard's and they work great. The curtains came from Big Lots for all of $10.00 and the rug came from Walmart for $15.00.. We got the desk top also from Menard's when they had them on sale for 30% off all in stock counter tops and paid $25.00 for that. The desk lamp with the awesome shade came from Hobby Lobby when they had their great 50% off sale on lamps so that came home with me for $10.00.... I tried to do the room and not spend a lot of money and I think that I accomplished that and then some. You never know what I may come home with next weekend.....

Just thought I would give a peak into my creative heaven....

Have a great 4Th!!!!!!

Happy 1/2 Birthday To Me!!!

Well I am so happy, I was able to get the Prismacolor pencils over the weekend that I have been eyeing for quite a while... With using the 40% off coupon, I had just enough in gift cards to get these wonderful pencils... I was able to get the set of 120 pencils. It is something that I would never spend that kind of money on but since it is birthday money it is all good!!!

I am so pumped and I cannot wait to start putting them to good use!!!

Happy birthday to me!!!

Avon Walk for Breast Cancer

My girlfriend and I participated in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer for the second year in Chicago, June 2 & 3. This year to meet our fundraising requirements we decided to have a fundraiser. I made a couple of donation cans for the event. I think that they turned out cute..
We have such a great time during the walk. You meet so many great people and you hear some heart wrenching stories... Kris and I walked for my mother-in-law. She is a stage 3, 3 year breast cancer survivor... We are very lucky to have her here with us today to share in these great events... It is a 39 mile walk held over 2 days. It is held in a variety of cities so you should check it out....
Well here are a couple of pictures of the cans and from the fundraiser... ENJOY!!!
